Description:

My son washed my car and used the abrasive side of the sponge and left these scratch marks. My question is can these be polished or buffed out easy?

Fortunately, those scratches look pretty shallow. It will take some effort, but it should polish out just fine. You just need to buy polishing compound, wax, a few applicators, and something to buff with. I recommend going to an auto parts store like Autozone/Napa/Advance Auto. They'll be able to point you in the right direction.

it looks to me like he took the clearcoat off. Polishing compound will only remove more. Try Waxing it first to see if it improves and if not go ask at a body shop what they think.

I doubt the clear coat is damaged. Just buff it out with white polishing compound (auto parts store) and wax it. You may have to do several applications. Red polishing compound may harm the finish, but not white.
