Wasp with HUGE stinger

Description:

Found this critter on my ceiling. Obviously some kind of wasp but look at that stinger! Anybody know what kind of wasp???

The long tails are used to find strands of spider webs. They are then followed to the spider in which the wasp lays an egg. The wasp may also bite off the legs of the spider, I assume to keep it in its original safe place, so that the egg can develop. I have seen this with my own eyes.

wow one of these scared me to death a couple of days ago. That is exactly what I saw. Now I know what it is!
