Where was this photo taken? It looks like a Rose of Sharon bush that has been spliced together from two different plants.

I still think it is a Rose of Sharon. It could also be some other form of Hibiscus.

It looks to me like a combo.... This seems to be a clematis [the blue-purple wide-faced flowers] vine growing in and through another small tree/shrub with white flowers. The clematis is probably growing out from the planted masses on the wall to the right of the expanded pic. I'm not sure what the white flowers are. They seem wrong-shaped for hibiscus, and too large for gardenia. I have no clue. But the blues look like clematis, and they will wind around and into anything. Very different flower style from the whites.
